Coaching with Objects as Tools

Speaker: Penny Gundry, PCC

1 Core Competency CCEU

We rely so much on verbal communication in coaching, yet many of us struggle to put together well-formed sentences. And despite having around 50,000 thoughts per day, the majority of them are just a rehash of what we thought the day before.

As coaches, we can foster an environment for our clients to create awareness and come up with new ideas!  Offering our clients items to map out their thoughts allows them to express things differently. Scientists tell us the brain continually adjusts and reorganises itself.  Coaching with objects helps the brain forge new pathways as clients consider things spatially, actively manoeuvring objects until everything seems to fit together in the ‘right’ way.

In this webinar, we will use a case study and practice example to explore how to use objects with our clients.  By the end of the webinar, participants will have:

  • Greater understanding of the theory behind using objects in coaching
  • Examples of how this has worked for clients that you can replicate
  • Practical take-aways on how to work with clients in new and innovative ways
